Following President Museveni's move to sign the Computer Misuse act into law, sections of the public were left divided over the enactment of this controversial act!
In that regard, Firebrand lawyer Isaac Ssemakadde has taken his grievances with this law a notch higher by dragging the government of Uganda to the East African Court of Justice over the same.
On why he didn't take the matters to Ugandan court, Ssemakadde who doubles as the team head at Legal Brains Trust says he distrusts them!
"Maize cannot expect Justice in a court composed of chickens! This matter is too important to be left to the biased Ugandan Judiciary" he said!
With support from Isabella National, Legal Brains Trust in their affidavit argue that the act is invalid because it infringes on the principles of good governance in Uganda and their petition was filed on Tuesday at the Arusha based East African Court of Justice.
Within a space of 45 days, this same Court expects the Attorney General of Uganda who has already been summoned to file a response without fail.
The acomputer Misuse Act was moved as a private members bill on the floor of Parliament by Kampala Central MP Muhammad Nsereko before being passed by Parliament on the 9th of September ad assented to by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on 13th October 2022.
