Former opposition chief whip in the 10th parliament and current Kira Municipality Member of Parliament Hon. Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda has congratulated NUP and its leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu.
Ssemujju was giving his views on the party's selected members to lead the shadow cabinet in the 11th cabinet and said the selection was well thought of. "The people chosen by NUP in the respective positions are well deserved. They are thoughtful of the ordinary person and will ensure unity among opposition and service delivery." He said.
Ssemujju's party Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) lost the leader of opposition post to NUP who emerged top with more MPs. NUP has 57 MPs while FDC had only 30.
John Patrick Nambeshe of Njiiya county was appointed the new opposition chief whip and will replace Ssemujju Nganda. Is this the long awaited unity within opposition parties? Let's wait and see.
