Who fights for the rights of civil servants in Uganda? Where do people with grievances towards working policies run to? When will solutions ever be solved without complainants having to demonstrate/ put down working tools?
Since Covid-19 times, govenmnet has been in a struggle with medical workers with the later increasingly growing frustrated over delayed or no payment at all. The medical workers have since then held sit down strikes, after bening "sweet talked" and promised payment, they returned to their duties
Yesterday, the prime minister Rt. Hon. Robbinah Nabbanja came out to caution the ever striking medical workers about 'stressing the government' with salary increment. "The government is tired of being put on pressure from striking medical workers. We are almost forced to give out jobs to other candidates if these ones are no longer interested" said the prime minister.
This takes us back to the question of who exactly ought to fight for civil servants' rights and if the government will keep running away from addressing such pressing issues amd keep hiring new staff to dress the already pressing wounds.
