* The new Taiwan presidential elect vowed to protect the country's from the aggresive China.
The U.S Secretary of State Antony Blinken sent William Lai, the Taiwanese presidential elect a congratulatory message but this only sparked fude with the China that described the U.S action as a violation of the of the Washington administration to maintain un official ties with Taiwan. Mr. Lai, the new presidential elect vowed to protect Taiwan from any increasing aggression from China however Beijing continues to see Taipei as its territory and therefore opposes any administration that says otherwise and has consistently pushed forward what the world knows as the one China policy with President Xi Jinping emphasizing that he will reunite China with Taiwan by 2049 and the end would justify the means.
Congratulatory messages came in flying from all over the world including from Mr. Blinken who emphasized that the U.S, one of Taiwan's main allies was committed to maintaining cross strait peace but was also quick to say that their long standing unofficial relationship should be in line with the one China policy. Under this policy, the U.S recognises and has a formal relationship with China unlike the separist Taiwan which China views as will be able to rejoin it one day China strongly opposes any intervention by the U.S in Taiwan affairs in any way and under any pretext. This comes after President Biden sent a delegation to Taiwan to hold talks with the the newly elected president which delegation included a national security adviser and former secretary of state.
Other senior countries that congratulated Taiwan included the U.K, Germany, France and Italy. Beijing's socialist government reviles Taiwan's Democratic Proggressive Party which has ruled Taiwan so far for a solid eight years and also refutes any support towards DPP which it branded as a pack of separists who aim at making Taiwan an independent nation which will all together defy the one China policy which aims at bringing back Taiwan to the realm of Chinese leadership with the vow of force to be applied if need be for the end will justify the means of the one China by 2049
