Former Inspector General of Uganda Police, Gen. Edward Kale Kayihura has had sanctions issued against him from the British Government.
According to the British, through their foreign secretary James Cleverly - Kayihura oversaw multiple units responsible for human rights violations.
These included torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment and punishment.
Being one of these 8 individuals sanctioned under the Global Human Rights sanctions regime, Kayihura will not be allowed to travel to the United Kingdom aswell as channeling money through their banks.
This is the second time Kayihura is involved in such sanctions, the last time was in 2019 when the United States did the same over same human rights violations.
