If you never saw UMA president musician Cindy Sanyu criticizing UNMF President musician Eddy Kenzo for forming the musicians’ Federation in presence of the Musicians' Association, you would never believe that a time would come when they would even share the same table to discuss issues regarding musicians in the Ugandan Industry.
Well, the money that was earlier on promised to musicians by the government of Uganda is soon bound to come into the hands of none other than Musician Eddy Kenzo. According to Cindy however, even if the money has not come through her, even musicians under the Association are still musicians of Uganda and they are entitled to receive their share to aid in Developmental issues.
Cindy Sanyu has revealed that she is bound to receive 1.3 Billion Ugandan shillings from Kenzo's federation to her Association and the musicians under her Association. Cindy stated that she had a meeting with none other than Eddy Kenzo himself and he assured her that she would get this money to assist in the Uganda Musicians Association activities bound to take place this year.
According to Cindy, whose opinion on UNMF has changed dramatically, the unity of UMA and UNMF is not an entirely bad idea and if the leaders decide upon it, they could easily guide Ugandan musicians to prosperity.
"The money is coming, and out of the 13 billion, UMA will receive 1.3 billion. This will aid in running activities across the country for 2024. It was agreed upon after a meeting with the UNMF leader Eddy Kenzo.” Cindy said.
