Cornwell Muleya has been the CEO of Uganda Airlines and he joined aviation in 1995 as general manager and CEO of Air Botswana Corporation for eight years. He then advanced further into the career and went on to Air Mauritius, and worked as CEO for Zambezi Airlines Ltd and ALS Limited in Kenya.
Known for his eloquence and hard work, he was one of the major revivers of the airline as he then advanced and was placed as the CEO of Air Uganda. He spent a total of over 23 years in aviation.
Everything started crumbling for the former Uganda Airlines CEO, Cornwell Muleya after the Minister of Works, Edward Katumba Wamala sent him and 12 other top officials on forced leave and later put them on suspension.
They were suspended on the orders of President Museveni to pave way for investigations into allegations where they were accused of issues like financial mismanagement, collusion, and nepotism in staff recruitment among other issues, leading to the termination oof his contract.
It has been confirmed by Ms Ali Munira, the IG spokes person that Cornwell Muleya was arrested Yesterday after having refused to do the bidding of the IGG. Await for more news from our desk as we research further into his arrest and the charges against him.
