    The Cranes registered its first defeat to its rival team the black stars of Ghana in the late minutes of the first half when our Isaac Isinde was penalized for a foul on Asamoah Gyan in the box and Andre Ayew converted from the spot to give Ghana all the three points.

    Despite the early loss in the first half the substitute Muhammad Shaban expressed his vibrant striking talent that gave us an entertaining second half with his coordination with Massa, Farouk Miya and Moses Oloya gave hope to the Ugandan fans both in Gabon and in Uganda.

    Despite the loss ,the Ghana coach gave credit to the Cranes for the extraordinary play displayed in the second half , “Playing Uganda Cranes is always difficult. Although we won the game I give them a lot of credit because they played well especially in the second half”, the Ghana coach (Avram Grant) quoted. We should note that Uganda last participated in this tournament in 1978.
