Uganda's President Museveni, Doesn't Know That DJs Exist

Uganda's President Museveni, Doesn't Know That DJs Exist
    • August 2, 2021 • 3 years ago

The president of Uganda on Firday last week confessed he does not know and is not aware of any DJs operating in his country.

This came during his nation address about Covid-19 where he lifted the restrictions he had imposed on the citizens of Uganda 42 days ago. These restrictions were put in place in order to contain the spread of Corona virus that had become hugely alarming.

So Sevo (Short form of Museveni) as he was talking about the UGX. 100,000 help that the government sent to its vulnerable citizens, he mentioned their (vulnerable people) categories and this is where he landed on the word "DJs"

Apparently "DJ" was a new word to our president

Despite all his 1986, Bush war knowledge, Museveni revealed he has no idea of who DJs are and what they do.

This sent massive shockwaves through the likes of DJ Roja, SlickStuart, DVJ Mercy, DJ Bryan and others that were watching the live telecast.

DJ Roja who could not believe the president's remarks reminded Museveni through a tweet about how he promoted his song called "Another Rap" in 2010 as he geared up for another presidential term in 2011.

In 2010, Museveni's another rap song became so big that it was competing with the big hits of that time such as "Ability" by Radio and Weasel, "Stamina" by Eddy Kenzo and others. However, the president himself did not go to studio to record his song but rather, a clever producer added up words from his various speeches to form the entire song.

What went wrong, why doesn't Museveni know our dear DJs

I hereby personally blame it on King Micheal also known as DJ Micheal. With all due respect, the former Lido beach resident DJ has been with Museveni over a million times but has failed to whisper a thing to him about the disc jockey profession.

Day and night, he is in the corridors of state house begging for money from the president alongside singers Bebe Cool and Catherine Kusasira.

At one point this year, he even bragged about how president Museveni asked him for his personal phone number and a few weeks later, Boom ?, King Michael receives a brand new Benz and all indicators showed it came from the big man.

So the next time DJs send a representative, it should be someone better than DJ Micheal, because he refused to let the president know that they are also human beings in Uganda.

On a lighter note, DJ Bryan of NTV promised to play his music at the loudest volume the next time he is at a gig at the Pearl of Africa Hotel which is just next to the president's state house on Nakasero Hill in Kampala.
