If there is one thing that mixes people in Uganda, it's the awards events that happen both in the country and abroad where different Ugandan musicians have been nominated.
Its like its in the blood of our people to reject anything that is decided under any type of award. So yesterday, MTV Base Africa released a list containing a category with only Ugandan musicians called Best Ugandan Act.
The list although not being so bad in my eyes was ugly in the eyes of many Bobi Wine fans that spotted a hidden Bebe Cool on the far left part of the image posted by MTV.
Who did not deserve to be on the list?
According to many of the people who commented on the post, Bebe Cool and Vinka were disturbing their senses. They wondered how the two were able to make it on the list.
Vinka to a little extent because atleast she had a one hit song this year "Love Panic". On the side of Bebe Cool, music fans in Uganda had no kind words for him and accused him of being a faded artist that has not single hit in the year 2020.
However Bebe Cool being hitless in 2020 sounds like a lie because I believe we all heard his Corona distance song that begins with a phone number as it starts to play.
Many people were also left asking questions about why the real currently trending artists in Uganda such as Pallaso and Fik Fameica were not included in the nominations list and concluded that the awards are unfair.
