Over the weekend, Ugandan standup comedian and media personality Toby Innocent Kafeero aka Dr.T. Amale was slapped with unbearable embarrassment after being pelted with bottles by angry revelers.
While performing at a yet to be established venue, pleasure seekers lost the cool and started throwing bottles at the former Bizonto comedy group member.
The reason that pushed these pleasure seekers to turn violent also remains a mystery.
It should be noted that Dr. T.Amale, a comedian who perfected in mimicking the former Presidential press secretary Tamale Mirundi and also an ardent support of the ruling party usually comments on Ugandan politics and throws dirty lines to opposition parties.
The funny man tries to let everyone know where he stands when it comes to politics. He also speaks about the entertainment industry, especially about the artists and it looks like fans are not happy with him and the statements he makes.
It is however not yet whether the partiers based on those background to throw bottles and eventually chase him from stage.
Meanwhile, Dr. T.Amale is not the first Ugandan celebrity to be pelted with bottles.
On several occasions, Big Music empire boss Ibrahim Mayanja alias Big Eye was beaten with plastics and other objects while performing. This was at a time when he started showing full support for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
It ruined his career not until he decided to join the opposition (National Unity Platform) NUP led by Bobi Wine. He is now doing so well musically.
In 2020, singer Moses Ssali famously known as Bebe cool faced the same tragedy at Cindy’s Boom party Saturday night held at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
All was going on really well until the Big size boss jumped on stage attempting to entertain the overwhelming crowds that had gathered and were already enjoying the performances from various artists at the %100 Rhythm Boom Party concert.
partiers first sent a warning to Bebe cool not to appear and boom he showed up, only to be welcomed with bottles.
To make it worse, some were throwing glass bottles for soda and beer as well as wine plus stones, which almost injured the ‘Love you Every day singer.’
It is not clear what Dr T Amale is going to do about the haters. One thing however is for sure, the fans don’t want him on stage. This could spell doom for the comedian. Perhaps he will pull a Big Eye move inorder to salvage the little leftf rom his career.
