Yesterday the media was awash with photos and clips of the Kisasi incident where General Katumba Wamala narrowly survived assassination but got shot in both shoulders.
Unfortunately, her daughter Brenda Nantongo and driver Haruna Kayondo died on the spot. This incident, so similar to how former AIGP of police Andrew Felix Kawesi also got killed, indeed raised a lot of questions and this forced the president to come out.
In a tweet released on his official Twitter account, H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni referred to the criminals as pigs. "The pigs who do not value life shot at Gen. Katumba, killed his daughter and driver and injured him.
Condolences on the loss of the two Ugandans. I talked to Gen Katumba twice on the phone. He is being we'll managed. We shall defeat the criminals as we did in the past. We already have clues to the killers." Reads part of the tweet.
The president also expressed his disappointment towards the general's bodyguard, who in trying to defend his boss shot in the air to ward off the assassin's. The president wished he (the bodyguard) had shot directly at them, the country would've got rid of four assassins.
