It was on Tuesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed that he would be running for the post of President which would see him extend his 24 year for another period of six years keeping him in power upto atlist 2030.
This will therefore make Putin second to Joseph Stalin in the longest serving Russian rulers. The Moscow elections are scheduled to commence between 15th and 17th March next year.
Putin's re- run for president has already been taken by many as a foregone conclusion as the Russian head has already been endorsed by 70% of the Russian population and is widely looked at as the defender of the Russian sovereignty ever since he ordered for the full scale invasion of Ukraine on 24th Feb. last year.
Its almost 2yrs of battle between the slav dominated nations with the tide taking a different path as the sequence of events now appears to be in the Russian favour.
This is what arises the big question of "What next after Putin's re-election?!" Russia continues to pursue an aggressive foreign policy with the Putin vying that their intentions will not change"We shall continue defending the sovereignity of our motherland with the same clear intentions with which we started this war which is stop strongly denazify and stop the west expansion towards our borders " said President Putin today as he carried out his annual marathon press conference which had been suspended last year due to the poor performance of the Russian forces on the battlefield.
This continue to see the Moscow administration changing the tide of the geo politic in the event that Ukraine is captured and Zelensky overthrown and with such a shift in dynamics, it poses a great threat to the Biden administration since the U.S has been the biggest funder of the Ukraine counter offensive which has failed to yield a negligible result.
And as for the rest of the world we continue to understand the shift in the global hegemony as Putin has really proved a bone of contention towards the global domination of the U.S and NATO and as the late ruler of diploamcy Henry Kissinger said while addressing the world economic forum that maybe Russian should have been given a chance to take part of Ukraine's territory and peace deal negotiated because the U.S can nolonger have the lion's share of global power due to the unwavering shifts from the west to the east for support.
We as Africa should brace our selves because where to elephants fight.....the grass suffers but to a larger end we shall benefit with a shut down in the neo colonialism of the west and all this acknowledgment goes to President Putin.
So whether you like it or not we should brace ourselves because Putin is here to stay
