It has come to our notice that the two rap artists are in a really heated up battle which can be evidenced by their two current hits.
Megan Thee Stallion released her “Hiss” song where she raps “These hoes don't be mad at Megan. These hoes mad at Megan's law. I don't really know what the problem is but I guarantee y'all don't want me to start”
Megan's law is a federal law requiring law enforcement to make information available about registered sex offenders. This is an apparent dig from Megan to Nicki Minaj's husband, Kenneth Petty, who is a registered sex offender. Petty attempted rape in April 1995 and assault on a sixteen year old girl and hence served four years in jail.
Nicki Minaj obviously doesn't like the fact that this is always brought up again. She was quoted to say “Everytime you mention him you feel the need to bring these things up... I didn't know that in our society you have to be plagued by your past. I didn't know that people can't turn over a new leaf.”
She went on and made an Instagram live shortly after “Hiss” became a trending topic on X [formerly known as Twitter]. In the live where she's off screen, she sounded heavily agitated while previewing a then unreleased track that made several references to the Houston-bred artist getting shot in the foot by Tory lanez in 2020.
The relationship between these two soured after the collaboration on the single “Hot Girl Summer” in 2019. Nicki Minaj released “Pink Friday 2" in December where she was sending a vague shot at Megan on ‘FTCU’
She says “Stay in your Tory Lanez, bitch, I'm not Iggy”
This refers to when Iggy Azalea wrote a letter to the judge in the support of Lanez during his trial in the fallout from the alleged Megan shooting.
Megan appeared on The Breakfast Club and said “motherfuckers who use Megan Thee Stallion they get 24 hour attention. I'm saying a hit dog gon’ holler. That's it. Whoever feel it, feel it.”
Nicki Minaj then released “Big Foot” on 29th Jan after previewing most of the song’s heavy hitting lyrics on her Instagram and X over the weekend.
She criticized Megan for winning Grammys but still needing to learn how to rap on the beat and be comfortable in the music.
About the Megan's law line, Nicki Minaj raps “You bringing up 30 year old tea from when this man was a 15 year old child. You bringing up 30 year old tea cause no man will ever fucking love you and lying on your dead mother" (Megan's mother died in 2019)
To sum it up Megan attacks Nicki's husband, Petty, so she also defends her man as his wife and hits on Megan's shooter Lanez who is serving a ten year sentence for the time being.
More information can be read from Variety where Thania Garcia writes more about this beef.
