Songstress Winnie Nakanwagi, also known as Winnie Nwagi, has said she doesn't want a life where she's completely depending on a man for provision. According to Nwagi, she is used to singlehandedly taking care of all her needs together with the needs of her precious little girl. Nwagi therefore believes she can not let a man take full charge of her life.
"According to what I have gone through; I got used to doing things by myself. I don't think I can let a man take full control. I want to do my own things. I don't want a life where I don't own something of my own. So, that's me," Nwagi said
As a single mother of one, Nwagi has previously, on many interviews said that she faces life like a man. Majorly because if her experience which comes from getting pregnant young. Nwagi got pregnant while in while in her form six ‘vacation’ and the father of her daughter, Destiny Mirembe, suggested an abortion.
"He told me if I want our love to continue, I should abort," Nwagi said during an interview with Extra Digest.
Nwagi added that it would be difficult for her to sit down and hold a conversation with her baby daddy because even he is afraid of her since he long neglected his duties and she has been taking care of everything alone.
"I don't think we can meet because I think If he saw me, he would hide. Because he fears me.He sees I'm doing everything. I only allowed him to name our child. He is the one who named her Mirembe,” she said.
When asked whether her daughter, Mirembe never demanded for his father, she said that she honestly told her about how her father never turns up for her even when he is needed the most.
“I face life like a man. I do everything for my child. I am the mother and father. I told my child that your dad doesn't like you. He doesn't care about us. even when I try to call him when you are sick, he doesn’t show up. And this is a man who has a very nice job" she stated
