Prime minister of Uganda, Rt. Hon. Robbinah Nabbanja earlier today at the parliament building responded to Disaster preparedness minister Eng. Hillary Onek's threats of quiting his job due to what he called "interference" from Hon. Nabbanja.
, Minister Onek took to his social media and threatened to quit his ministerial duties, with claims that the prime minister is ever interfering in his duties. The prime minister in her response called Eng. Onek a 'lazy and indisciplined' person whose laziness won't be accepted anywhere.
"By the time I came here I have not seen the letter but I saw a copy circulating on social media and my office has not recieved the letter. Let members appreciate that we're changing the mode of how we operate. The other day you saw me with the firt lady struggling to put teachers in schools. Was I disturbing her powers?
The other day you saw me in Buyende trying to see that the fisheries department delivers to the people. I am mandated by article 108 to oversee goverment business and I think I'm doing very well. If the minister decided to address me in social media, that os different, he's indisciplined and you cannot let Ugandans sufforcate. I told you at the onset in my time of office that I will not allow laziness." Said the prime minister. Should we take it as an eye opener that the prime mimister means business or this too shall pass?
