As Ugandans are still enjoying the feeling of putting women on their thighs while jamming to the widely trending Hozambe hit, there are a few things going on behind the curtains regarding the making and ownership of this song that could shock music lovers.
When now trending musician D Star came onto the music scene, it was via a Tiktok video that suddenly went viral as he was carrying a whining Shifulah on his laps. In the background, his song was playing and he was singing along to it while Shifulah was doing her waist work on his laps.
This song was then re-done with Mudra D’viral and since then, it has been one of the most trending songs alongside Enkudi, not just in Uganda but even in other Countries like Kenya as challenges on this track have been pouring in from there. Well, as soon as fame came knocking on D Star's door, problems must have accompanied it because after his acquired fame, there seems to be a group of ghetto youths after him.
While speaking to Sanyuka TV's Uncut show team, a group of youths came out with accusations that the person that is now going by the name Hozambe (D Star) is not actually the real Hozambe and his name is simply D star. One of them boldly stated that he is Hozambe and he even mentioned that everyone knows him by that name because he even has a special greeting he utters out when people call out his name Hozambe.
“That gentleman is not Hozambe. What he is doing is impersonation. His name is D Star. I am the original Hozambe kakuneme papiyada. Everyone in the area knows that. Every time someone meets me and calls out my name I gladly respond Nakaminezo Papi Gaza God help us all.” He stated.
This self proclaimed Hozambe further stated that D Star did not just impersonate him and steal his name but he also stole his song and he is hurt to see his music trending whilst it was stolen from him in a one studio by D Star. They recall that he stole their phone from the studio and he also stole paper sheets where the song was written. The next thing they heard was their song trending on Tiktok.
“He stole our phone from a certain studio where we had gone to record. He also tore a few pages out of our composition book and among the songs he tore out was that famous Shifulah song.” These young men stated
The Hozambe Star D Star has not yet come out to respond to these accusations but we shall keep you posted as the story unfolds.
