In what can be termed as a shocking revelation, producer Abdul Karim Mucha aka Producer Didi has publicly announced that he is HIV postive.
Producer Didi has in the recent past been off and on the sickbed, battling several strange illnesses.
A few days,he was admitted to the hospital following his struggle with a specific illness.
During a visit to Didi, producer Washington disclosed that the fellow producer could be grappling with mental stress, a common issue among producers, and he was confident that Didi would manage to overcome it.
In the process , Producer Didi was diagnosed with HIV, an infection that has attacked people’s body immune systems over the years.
Following a successful counseling session, Didi was able to be strong and publicly revealed his HIV status.
He revealed that in his next journey, he will embark on sensitization people to live positively and to help talented musicians push the cause.
Didi is not the first public figure to reveal his HIV status.
On April 14, 1989, Philly Bongole Lutaaya shocked his fans when he declared that he is HIV +.
He said that the motive behind the disclosure of his health status was to educate Ugandans about the disease.
In fact, before succumbing to AIDS, Lutaaya spent his last days writing songs about his battle with the virus, releasing his last album Alone and Frightened, including his famous song “Alone
He also touring churches and schools throughout Uganda to spread a message of prevention and hope to the young and old.
Lutaaya was popular in Uganda in the 1960s, and in the 1970s he toured DRC, Kenya and Japan. In the mid-1980s, he settled in SWEDEN. There he recorded his hit album Born In Africa which is still popular in Uganda.
Mc Kats
celebrated television star and top events Mcee, Edwin Katamba aka Mc Kats also came out and publicly announced that he was HIV positive.
Although there were allegations before about him being HIV positive, his public announcement came as a shock to most of his fans and followers.
Katamba said he was tired of living in a life of denial and pretense and wanted to let it out to the public so he could live a good life without stress and depression.
Ever since he publicly announced, he embarked on a journey of advocating and inspiring the young generation about living positively with HIV as well as organizing campaigns and seminars that inform youth about the dangers of HIV and how they can protect themselves againstthe deadly virus
