Since the launch of the Covid-19 relief money commonly known as 'Nabbanja money', about 50,000 vulnerable Ugandans out of the gazetted 500,000 have so far recieved the Ugshs. 100,000 on their phones.
Many of the recipients have come out to testify after recieving the money and thanked the prime minister and the government at large. This however is just a drop off an ocean of vulnerable Ugandans who claim to have recieved nothing.
Amidst this craze, some areas seem to be in for a long wait to recieve this money and among which is the Kampala metropolitan area. According to the prime minister, the data coming from this region is so disorganized and confusing.
"Information coming from Kampala region is so uncoordinated. Some names are appearing more than once, while others have NIN numbers that don't correspond to their phone numbers. We might take more time to clear these issues and these people might wait a little longer." Hon. Nabbanja.
With less than 20 days to end the 42 days lockdown, and all the uncertainties around the relief fund, do you still have hope of recieving the money or you're wearing your mask?
