65 of teachers must be vaccinated for schools to re-open
    • August 13, 2021 • 4 years ago

With the increasing public pressure to re-open institutions of learning countrywide, as a way of saving both the education sector and combarting Gender Based Violence, the government has hinted on the possibility of re-openning schools BUT with conditions.

According to guidelines, a number of 358,000 teachers MUST be vaccinated countrywide for schools to re-open. This figure equates to about 65% of the total population of teachers.

However, since the nationwide vaccination was launched three months back, only 34% of the teachers have been vaccinated and 77% of these have only received the first jab!

World Health Orrganization has also come out to request well off countries to donate some vaccines to the poor countries so they can also have their citizens vaccinated. With the recent chaos around the Norway 'expired' vaccines that were donated to Uganda, are you ready for the jab?
