As the nation is battling the second wave of Covid-19, vaccination has since been looked at as the utmost solution if we're to ever go back to "normal." Over a million Ugandans have been vaccinated since the commencement of the activity in March this year.
However, the executive director, State House health monitoring unit, Warren Namara has today come out to confirm that about 800 Ugandans were injected with water instead of the vaccine (Astra Zeneca) in May.
This information was first published in Daily monitor and it took the health ministry a while to come out and clarify on the issue. Some sources within the ministry actually came out to put the blame on the Ugandans, claiming that they were impatient and decided to buy off the vaccination.
Namara in his report said the 800 individuals are yet to be identified but apologized on behalf of the ministry of Health. With the country a month into the 42 days of total lockdown, the ministry continues to encourage Ugandans to go for vaccination, irrespective of the incompetence.
Dear reader, were you vaccinated? If so, how sure are you you're not part of the 800 victims? Would you advise other people to carry on with vaccinating or you'd advise them to continue social distancing?
