Yesterday as many Ugandans were complaining of the shut down and had to use VPN to access social media, a certain section of Ugandans were happy and jubilating.
These Ugandans were jubilating because their OTT was still working and did not need VPN to access social media
These Ugandans were the few who were using the africell network.
They went on social media to brag and be happy, exposing themselves.
Furthermore, the africell administration on social media also posted a braggart post "what is VPN?".
Many people rushed to purchase africell sim cards and join the network which has only 3 million users.
How ever, things did not go well today morning when they were shut down and the mobile users of the network could not even access YouTube or Google
Even with the VPN turned on, the above sites could not be reached
Could the lack of privacy and gossiping have exposed them to the government ?
