Among the sectors that were left closed whlie the president was lifting the lockdown on 31st/July were the places of worship. These were given a period of 60days while they observe the situation.
Yesterday while presiding over mass at his Namirembe church residential, Archbishop of the churh of Uganda Rt. Rev Steven Kazimba Mugalu questioned the preparedness of various churches countrywide.
"We are roughly left with a month to the 60 days the president gave us to see if we can be opened. But incase we are told to open tomorrow, how prepared are we? Does your church have a hand washing area? Does your church have temperature guns? Do you have a standby healthworker to tend to medical issues in case one arises?" asked Rev. Kazimba.
The Archbishop also requested religious leaders to keep preparing for their re-opening and while doing so, they should diligently pray to God for guidance. Does your church have all things in check or 'the blood of Jesus paid it all?'
