Recently, the social media accounts of the NRM bloggers were deleted off Facebook and some off Twitter.

They were so furious, complained and made so much noise about it. They even threatened Facebook and asked for a total shutdown in Uganda.

However, Moses Ssali alias Bebe Cool has actually come out to defend Facebook.

He is a known NRM supporter and his Facebook or any other accounts were not shutdown.

" Most of those people spread hate speech on their pages. They usually hold live shows on their Facebook where they aimlessly speak. Something small can cause so much havock in the country especially during these times when we are in a delicate moment during elections."

" They usually pick photos of things that are not true and paint a bad picture of Uganda and this is how our foreigners take the country. But they need to stop with the lies. "

" Most of these bloggers tell lies and once Facebook scrutinized them, they had to be shut down. My account was not shut down because I speak the truth and never incite violence."

He also added that he believes it was not only NRM accounts shut down but also those of the opposition too.

Furthermore, he advised the young NRM bloggers to just post the needful and leave the hate speech. It doesn't help anyone.

" Shutting down Facebook would be a selfish idea. Some of these young people who might not have jobs earn off Facebook. It would therefore be bad for them to make losses due to demands of other people and yet they might not really care about politics."

When asked to comment about the issue of Zari's son coming out as gay, he made no comment expressing it is her private life and not their business.

What she does is her business.

How ever, he advised Zari to limit the kids on how much they put on social media as their private life is not for the public to know.
