    in summary
Chelsea defeated Brighton 1-2 at the American Express Community Stadium and moved up in the premier league table as they strive to qualify for European football.

If we are to consider form, Chelsea are currently the fourth best team in the Premier league due to their fantastic performances in recent fixtures.

Chelsea can no longer qualify for next season's Champions league, even if they do win their last match they are nowhere near the top four. With one game remaining, Chelsea can still qualify for the Europa League or Conference league.

Brighton had some moments of dominance in the game but they couldn't match Chelsea's quality in attack. Cole Palmer scored a terrific header and Christopher Nkunku came off the bench to replace injured Mykhailo Mudryk and scored.

Chelsea fans can only imagine how there season would have gone if Christopher Nkunku had made more than 10 league appearances.

The last 15 minutes of the game were rough for Chelsea after their captain Reece James received a red card in the 88th minute. This forced them to defend more tightly because they were a man down.

Danny Welbeck scored in the 97th minute but Brighton couldn't get the equaliser.

Most of Brighton's talented players and a coach have been taken by Chelsea. The likes of coach Graham Potter and players Robert Sanchez, Marc Cucurella and Moises Caicedo all came from Brighton before they were taken by Chelsea.

Moises Caicedo and Marc Cucurella were booed by Brighton fans from the beginning of the match.

Referee Michael Salisbury seemed to be the busiest man on the field in the opening 15 minutes of the game due to the many fouls that were being committed. One of the decisions made by the referee was to award Chelsea an early penalty after Cucurella was brought down by Facundo Buonanotte in the box but it was cancelled after a VAR review.

Cucurella later assisted Cole Palmer who scored with a magnificent header into the top  corner. The headed goal was Cole Palmer's 25th goal of the campaign.

Brighton were close to equalizing in the first half but unfortunately Pedro's header ended up hitting the cross bar. There claim of a penalty was also turned down in the second half after Simon Adingra had been challenged by Malo Gusto.

Chelsea's victory against Brighton makes it four wins in a row for Mauricio Pochetino's side  while Brighton continue their four game winless run.
