Ever since the prime minister Hon Robbinah Nabbanja declared that government was to reach out to the vulnerable Ugandans affected by the lockdown through mobile money, every Ugandan has been expectant and given views about the possibility of the idea.
The money to be sent to whoever qualifies is Ugshs 100,000 and a budget was released to guide receivers on how to use the money. Registration of people under the different categories has been ongoing, which has also suffered a lot of question marks.
Over the weekend, Hon Nabbanja assured Ugandans that they would be recieving the money starting this week, only a day had not been released. As of now, the announced day for recieving the money is Thursday, 8th/July/2021.
The office of the prime minister has however advised those who qualify to register with those in charge of registering. Tomorrow, all the data of the qualifying vulnerable Ugandans will be handed to telecommunication companies.
On Thursday, the prime minister will kick off the sending of money to the qualified Ugandans and by 10a.m, messages will start arriving on mobile numbers. Have you been registered or you're not a vulnerable poor??
