The former LRA rebel leader who helped Joseph Kony has been sentenced to 25 years in jail.
The International Criminal Court (ICC) passed this judgement today on the 6th of May 2021.
Dominic was charged with 61 war crimes such as murder, rape, defilement, sexual enslavement, child abuse among others.
The 41 year old had an emotionless face on as the judgement was being read by presiding judge Bertram Schimiit.
"We have only sentenced him to 25 years and not life because he entered this life without a choice. He was abducted as a child and we do believe he would have lived a good life and contributed to society if it wasn't for his case." The judge added.
The defense lawyers of Dominic want to appeal the ruling and ask for 20 years in prison which the prosecution had agreed on.
His boss, Joseph Kony is still missing and security officials are still looking for him as he was last seen in Sudan.
Many others believe he is in Central African Republic or the Congo basin.
Speaking on behalf of the Ugandan government, Ofwono Opondo said they are happy with the judgement and hope it serves as a warning to other war rebels.
