Dubai, UAE | Equity Bank Uganda is set to culminate two weeks of customer engagement in Dubai with a visit from Managing Director Anthony Kituuka. His trip will kick off with a keynote address at the Smart Minds Business Conference on Friday, October 25, 2024, and conclude with his participation in the 3rd Annual Uganda-UAE Business Forum on Thursday, October 31, 2024.
Ahead of his departure, Kituuka expressed enthusiasm about connecting with new customers. “We have heard your call,” he stated, emphasizing that “Equity is not just about banking; it’s about understanding and supporting our customers wherever they are. I am joining a team that has been actively engaging with our clients in the UAE.”
The bank has reported a strong response to its services since sending a team to Dubai. “The feedback has been incredibly positive,” said Laura Bahemuka, Equity Bank’s Head of Micro Segment, who is currently in Dubai. “Customers have appreciated the one-on-one support and the resolution of long-standing issues.”
In an official statement, Equity Bank noted, “Managing Director Anthony Kituuka is making a special trip to Dubai to personally connect with customers and demonstrate the bank’s commitment to serving its global clientele.”
During this engagement, the Dubai team has been providing personalized services to Ugandan expatriates and other customers in the UAE, including addressing queries, reactivating accounts, opening new accounts, and issuing ATM cards. They are also assisting customers with mobile and online banking.
Kituuka’s keynote at the Smart Minds Business Conference is highly anticipated by business leaders and entrepreneurs. He will discuss strategies for building successful businesses in Uganda and how strategic partnerships can foster growth. “Equity Bank exists to champion the socio-economic prosperity of the people of Africa, making this keynote a personal duty for me,” he said.
Additionally, Kituuka will speak at the Uganda-UAE Business Forum, engaging with both public and private investors, as well as Ugandans doing business in Dubai. He plans to host informal sessions with Ugandan customers, providing them with an opportunity to connect with him directly.
“Equity is your listening and caring partner. We believe in responding to our customers’ needs,” Kituuka explained, emphasizing the importance of these personal connections.
This engagement follows Equity Bank's recent hosting of the India-Uganda trade mission, which brought together investors from India and Ugandan businesses for substantial discussions. The bank's ongoing efforts exemplify how financial institutions can effectively serve customers across borders, ensuring they remain connected to their home country.
Earlier this year, Equity Bank also interacted with customers in the UK and the US, offering a range of financial services.
