Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) wants the government to institute mandatory vaccination across the country, as a move to enable mass vaccination and reduce the amount of vaccines that expire before being used.
While speaking to the media at the party offices in Najjanankumbi, party spokesperson Hon. Ibrahim Ssemuju Nganda wondered why the vaccines have to first go to the medical stores instead of heading straight to respective centers of vaccination.
"Our call to the government is that vaccination should be made compulsory to al Ugandans, since it has proved not to have any side effects like how the propagnada has been spread. I don't understand why the vaccines have to again be taken to medical stores. On reaching the airport, they should just be loaded to trucks and driven directly to vaccination centres." said the Kira municipality MP.
Ssemuju went on to wonder why vaccines get to expire yet people are not vaccinated. "I don't understand how free vaccines can expire when people are yet to be vaccinated. It's like having food in your house and they find when you are about to die of hunger." he added.
The president during his recent address on Covid said over 60,000 doses of vaccine were to expire by the end of September.
