“I am more of a woman beater than Weasel. If he has been bating Sandra, then he doesn't know how to beat. I beat even harder than he does!"
These are the words that dug Gravity Omuttuju's grave. He said this statement during an interview very recently when he was asked about his opinion on what he thought could have gone wrong with Weasel to end up beating his own baby mama like she was a chicken thief. In the same interview, he was asked why men beat women and he had this to say.
"It is fun and we simply love it. Beating women provides a certain satisfaction."
The same words he said jokingly have come back to haunt him. Whether he was being sarcastic or not, the comments drew the attention of the wider public and there were calls for the public to boycott his upcoming “Tusimbudde” concert on 1st October for abetting domestic violence.
Gravity tackled a very sensitive topic with humor which he is used to doing but this time around, things have not gone his way as netizens have turned against him, saying he supports an act they are trying to get rid of so he does not even deserve a fan base
After increased pressure from the women, who demanded he retracts the statement and immediately apologizes, he did just that. Gravity came out and explained that it was only humor but he does not support any form of violence, more so towards women. He mentioned that he highly valued and respects women.
Gravity went further to mention that he is not even a playboy but rather he loves and respects his woman and has never even tired to beat her once. He issued an apology to all Ugandans, saying he has learnt not to joke when it comes to such serious matters.
"I Woke up this morning with numerous missed calls on my phone and many incoming ones from different people in concern of the interview I did with Kays. Whatever I said during that interview was a joke. I love and respect my woman and I can never and I have never raised my hands to beat any woman at anyone point and I condemn it. My apologies to all Ugandans,” he said
