800m female athelete Halima Nakaayi earlier today secured her place in the semi finals slated to happen tomorrow at the #WorldAthleticsChampionshipsin Budapest - Hungary. Nakaayi finished 1st in the 4th heat in a time of 1 minute and 59.68 seconds.
Nakaayi will be hoping to re-live her 2019 glory after she won Gold in the world title in Doha, Qatar given she didn't take part in last year's championships in Oregon - Canada. She however will have to outcompete U.S.A's reigning champion Athing Mu who also won her heat with a time of 1:59.59seconds.
Elsewhere, 200m sprinter Tarsis Orogot also qualified for the 200m semi finals after finishing 4th in the 5th heat with a time of 20:44 seconds, enabling him go through as one of the fastest three across all the Heats.
