Word has been going around for a couple of days about the "sudden" new look of the Independence monument along speke road. The flashy "M" erected just inches away of the monument left a lot of unanswered questions among many Ugandans. Many had actually started attaching it to politics, saying it's a move to front political issues to citizens. However, rumor has it that the idea is a campaign tactic by MTV, for promoting the MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA) slated to be held in Kampala, next year.

The campaign started last Friday and such replicas are to be strategically erected along the Kibuye round about, the Acacia mall, YMCA and one is already erected at the garden city round about. The idea has been welcomed by people in the entertainment industry saying it's good for both marketing the awards and also Uganda as a tourist country. Y'all should relax your "political grievances for now."
