The Egyptian captain Salah was injured before halftime during their clash against Ghana last night on Thursday as he tried to sprint after the ball. He managed to walk off the pitch but was uncomfortable with his hamstring.
Medical checkups will be done to find the extent of Salah's hamstring as Klopp telling his pre_match press conference ahead of Sunday's premier league game against Bournemouth as he waits for more information.
He said: "We don't know anything. I spoke last night with him and how it is with these injuries, you need further assessment. That's what they are doing now and then we will know more."He then exposed his initial reaction to Salah going down, continuing: "Of course, it was in that moment a shock: 'Oh my God, what is it?'
"You couldn't see that it was like [being] hit by something with high-intensity, you couldn't see [that] and then going down, you have these kind of hamstring injuries in a different way but he still felt it and we all know how rarely Mo goes off or needs to go off so there is definitely something and we will see."
On whether Liverpool will look to send their own medical staff to assess Salah, he added: "We will see, that depends on the diagnosis. There will be an ultrasound and they will do an MRI and then we will know what it is and then we will see what Egypt plans. But it's too early [to say], sorry."
Mohamed Salah is among the top scorers of the Premier league with fourteen (14)goals competing with Manchester City striker Erling Haaland with also eight assists that have enabled Liverpool to lead the table after the twenty games with their unexpected defeat against Tottenham following Luis Diaz disallowed goal by VAR.
Either with or without Salah Liverpool have to continue to take their lead to a second premier league title in the four years still unseen as clubs from Saudi pro league remain interested in the Egyptian captain's signature especially Al Hilal.
