After a 5-0 thrashing of Bright Stars on Saturday, which saw KCCA FC finish second behind league winners Vipers FC, the future of KCCA FC's interim coach Jackson Mayanja has been uncertain till he came out to clear the air.
Jackson Mayanja alias Mia Mia was appointed interim coach of the Kasasiro Boys on 19th/April/2023 and he managed to help the club finish 2nd with 52points. Under his eadership, KCCA played 8 league games, winninng 4, drawing 3 and losing one to the eventual league winners Vipers FC.
While addressing the media after Saturday's game, Mayanja stated that he is open to whatever decision the club management will come up with regarding his future. “My tenure at KCCA FC is not over because this is my home, and I have always been KCCA FC,” said Mayanja.
He however went on to state that in case the club is to replace him with another coach, he will still be okay with it. “I have no problem if the club gets another person (coach), but I believe I can still do the job,” Mayanja added.
Mayanja is no new face to KCCA FC, having played for it under two spells, 1987-1992 and 1996-97, where he captained the club to a CAF Confederations Cup Semi Final in 1997. He later returned to the club as a coach in 2005.
