* The change of invitation comes just after U.S president Joe Biden turned down Prime minister Na?endra Modi's invitation due to home based elections slotted for next year.
French President Emmanuel Macron will be present at the Republic day celebrations where he honoured an invitation by Prime Minister Modi after the U.S president Joe Biden backing out of the agreement. Biden had been given the invitation at the G7 summit this year but had turned tables giving India a trouble to look for a new guest. This further forces India to as well postpone the Quad summit which was slated to happen the following day but now faces rescheduling due to the absence of the American president.
lt has always been the custom of India as a country to send an invitation to a governing head of state with whom the country has very close ties with. Macron joins five other French presidents notably Valery Giscard, Nicolas Sarkozy and Francios Hollande who have all been main celebrants on the day. Accepting the invitation through twitter the president, said "i will be there ". The republican day celebrations are scheduled to take place in a period of six weeks from now in India's capital New Delhi.
France and India have continued to foster relations through enhancing trade relations between the two countries which has been ranked with very high success as France has been the biggest supplier of fertiliser inputs to India. The two nations have also carried out successful military diplomacy with France's entry in the Indo Pacific pact which sees the nations continuing to bolster trade.
