"someone with a diploma in Music, Dance and Drama(MDD) wants to lead this country called Uganda. This is not a theater" this was captain Mike Mukula during president Museveni's campaigns a day ago referring to presidential hopeful Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu.
Ssentamu, who's also a musician is vying for the top most seat in the country and he's proven to be a big threat to the ruling regime.
The statement made by Mukula seemed very demeaning towards the arts practitioners. This comes after laws we're passed to regulate artists and their content which saw artists protest online.
Many artists have since yesterday come out to condemn what Mukula said, saying that he's neither a saint, who over the years has been involved in various money scandals, the most popular one being that where he's said to have stolen billions of money that was meant to treat TB patients.
This also led to resurrection of a question that was making rounds back then, about president Museveni's education results that up to now never surfaced but the court was on Kyagulanyi's neck to avail his.
So, we ask, what profession makes one viable to contest for the presidential seat?
