Our duty as MPs is beyond political party differences - Speaker Among on meeting with Hon. Ssemuju
    • May 31, 2022 • 3 years ago

One of the most critical and vocal member of parliament is Kira Municipality MP, Hon. Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda. The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) spokesperson is known to be very outspoken and always challenging most of the government's programs.

Ssemujju has been in parliment for over 10 years and one would ague he is one of the longest serving MP. He was yesterday visited by the newly elected speaker of the 11th parliament, Hon. nita Among at his parliament office to discuss yet to be disclosed matters.

In her message, the speaker reminded Ugandans that when it comes to serving Ugandans, their political party differences are put aside because they (members of parliament) swore to serve all Ugandans and make sure their views are well represented.

"The duty of us Members of parliament is to serve a common goal which is serving and repesenting Ugandans here in the parliament and we are going to do this on a daily basis. This calls for putting aside our political differences." Said Hon. Among.

With the unconfirmed rumors that he (Ssemujju) is an NRM mole, regardless of his constant vocal outbursts, this leaves all specualtions in balance. But like the speaker said, let's focus on serving Ugandans at large.
