In the wake of a turn of events, Ramathan Ggoobi, an economist and lecturer at MUBs has failed to become the next minster of Finance in Uganda.
This was after a new cabinet list was released by president Museveni yesterday night on social media did not include his name.
Ggoobi's supporters desperately searched for his name on the list since they were assured by Daily Monitor, a leading Ugandan newspaper that their man would be appointed to the Juicy position by Museveni.
Daily Monitor printed a provisional cabinet list in yesterday's (Tuesday) paper showing various people that president Museveni was likely to pick as minsters, however, their predictions failed miserably except for a few.
So the whole day of Tuesday, there was a lot of talk about Ggoobi's new position by his current and former students at Makerere University Business School.
Most of them confessed he is the right man for the job and that this is the best decision the NRM had ever taken in decades. Others like Matsiko Elly on Twitter had this to say;
Leave Ugandans and their excitement. They now think Ggobi can make what decision other than signing for loans and releasing supplementary budget monies
But no sooner had the president announced the new cabinet than jokes on Ramathan started coming thru
Eastenda Omuhkumwa on twitter
Ramathan Ggobi had started promising people jobs ????????????????????????????????????????????
The other useless newspaper has been trushed officially. And Ramathan Ggobi should sue them for damages????????
chiefwhip UOT
Instead of lugolobi they read ggobi ????????
Anyway, all the jokes aside, Matia Kasaija retained the position of Finance Minister and the moral of this story is you cannot start predicting the decisions of Museveni who is considered to be a very wise man by all standards.
