Revelers resort to property damage after Fik Fameica's no show at an extra concert.

    in summary
The event organizer has already filed a report and is planning to drag Fik Fameica to court in order to seek justice.

The habit of musicians failing to show up for concerts where hey have been booked is rapidly turning rampant in the Ugandan music industry. The worst thing about this is that most of them miss their shows when they have already received a deposit on the money they had agreed on with events organizers.

Well, revelers are also not about to have this habit as they are showing signs of retaliation. Musician Fik Fameica was booked for an extra show in Kigumba at a location that has been identified as  Sevemore Hotel. This show was meant to take place on the 4th of May 2024. Fik Fameica however disappointed his fans when he did not turn up for the event, leaving them bitter.

Sadly, this is not the only show that he failed to appear at. He also failed to appear at one in Masindi, something that has left revelers utterly displeased. It has been heard of for musicians to miss a show but revelers were more angered by the fact that Fik Fameica missed two shows in a row. It seems like it is not only revelers that were left bitter but so were the events organizers who invested a lot of time and money in organizing these shows.

    Fik

According to the events organizers, Fik Fameica was paid a deposit of 6 Million UGX  which was a partial deposit since they had agreed on a total of 12 Million UGX. The worst thing was that when they tried to contact him, he was unreachable as his mobile phones were completely switched off. Other musicians like Fik Gaza tried to cover up the gap by giving eccentric performances but even this did not comfort he revelers who had specifically turned up to show their support for Fik Fameica.

Fik Fameica later forwarded his excuse, stating that he was involved in an accident hence his reason for failing to turn up for the shows. Not even this reason was enough to satiate the angry revelers. They therefore resorted to property destruction at the venue while cussing out at the events Organizers and the musician himself.

The organizer therefore filed a police case at the K’dongo police station and has vowed to drag Fik Fameica to court demanding Ugx 50m compensation for the property and emotional damages caused by his failure to show up at the event. What is your take on this issue?
