He passed on yesterday Wednesday at around 6 pm due to heart complications.
He was the current president of Tanzania and this was his second term after winning elections back in 2020
The president was last seen two weeks ago in public.
Condolence messages are flowing in from the world to the people of Tanzania.
Burial arrangements will be announced soon and the country is expected to have a time to mourn their fallen president.
The Vice President made the death announcement and is now the commander in charge as the constitution stipulates.
