Ederson may have played his last Premier league game for the champions Manchester city.
According to a report in The Mirror, the Brazilian is ready to move on.
Ederson transferred from Benfica to Manchester city in 2017 and has won six premier league titles, one UEFA Champions League, two FA Cups, four League cups, one FIFA Club world cup and one UEFA Super cup with the sky blues. The deal was worth £35 million. The lucrative Saudi Pro League is his likeliest destination.
Ederson has made 33 Premier League starts this season and kept 10 clean sheets. However, backup goalkeeper Stefan Ortega has also made three UEFA Champions League appearances and has been in goal for Manchester City throughout their journey to the FA Cup final.
Stefan Ortega has made nine premier league appearances during the times Ederson was injured. He performed excellently in those games especially in the game against Tottenham Hotspur where he denied Son Heung-Min a goal with five minutes left to full time and the score 1-0 in favour of Manchester City.
Stefan Ortega has been offered a new deal but wants to be assured of more playing time before he commits his future to Manchester City. Stefan Ortega's future at Manchester City is completely dependent on what happens with Ederson. If Ederson isn't sold in the summer and signs a new deal, Stefan Ortega is likely to leave Manchester City.
Ederson has been ruled out for the rest of the season with an injury which he got in the game against Tottenham Hotspur. The injury is reported to be a fractured eye socket.
This means Ortega will be in between the posts for Manchester City as they face rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup final on Saturday at Wembley.
Ederson has made 250 appearances for Manchester City and kept 112 clean sheets. During these appearances he saved 3 penalties, conceded 190 goals, made 7 errors leading to goals, provided 3 assists and received 20 yellow cards and one red card.
Ederson also won the premier league golden glove three times in three consecutive seasons. These are 2019/20, 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons.
