Vipers FC given greenlight to host matches past 7pm under Floodlights
    • August 21, 2023 • 2 years ago

Vipers Football Club were elated to receive news that they would be able to now host matches past 7pm under floodlights at their St. Marys Kitende Stadium.

Vipers join KCCA and NEC as the only three clubs in the Uganda Premier League to have been cleared to host matches past 7pm under Floodlights. The night games had been introduced last season by Vipers and KCCA but FUFA needed to first assess the new venture before giving a greenlight.

The current defending champions of the 2022/23 Star Times Uganda Premier League will play 11 out of their 15 home games of the new season under floodlights, starting at 7pm according to the decree passed.

Vipers' first night game will be against Arua Hill on the 21st of September 2023 and will kick off at 7pm. Despite having introduced the technology last season, rivals KCCA have been allowed less than half of their home games.

Their first match under Floodlights will be against NEC on the 28th of October, later they will host Vipers, Solitilo Bright Stars, URA, BUL, Busoga United and SC Villa.
