The world's general population is now 8 Billion People, an element that has been described as "A milestone in Human Development".
The unprecedented growth according to the United Nations report is due to the gradual increase in the human lifespan owing to improvements in areas like nutrition, Public Health, Medicine, personal Hygiene, and high Persistent levels of fertility among other issues.
The report further reveals that Asian Middle income status countries accounted for the most growth with 700 million people of the past decade.
Important to note is India's notable added population of about 180 million people, a number that will see it surpass China as the World's most populous nation by next year.
This tremendous world population growth however has impact on the global scale. Reports show that having more people on Earth puts more pressure on nature, as people compete with wildlife for water, food and space.
In addition, this rapid population growth combined with Climate Change is also likely to cause mass migration and conflicts in the coming years.
