Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, Hajjat Namyalo expressed gratitude for the unwavering support shown to the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) and the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party.
“As you wait for the government’s poverty alleviation programs, the President and I, along with other well-wishers, have decided to give out tools that can help you start small businesses and improve your livelihoods,” she stated.
Among the items distributed were fishing nets, water life jackets, gumboots, hair dryers, hair cutting machines, poultry chicks, hoes, sprayers, popcorn and chips frying machines, poultry chicks and their feeds, and many more.
These tools are intended to help the residents of Wakiso district initiate small-scale businesses and become economically self-reliant.
Namyalo emphasized the importance of this empowerment drive in bridging gaps until larger programs like the Parish Development Model (PDM), Emyooga, and the Youth Livelihood Funds are fully operational. These programs, though impactful, often face delays due to bureaucratic processes.
Namyalo assured continuous support for Wakiso residents, promising that the empowerment drive would extend across the entire district, including Busiro, Kasangati, Nansana, and Kira municipalities.
