* North Korea could be on the verge of war with the South as President nullifies plans of ever reconciling.
* There has been a change in tide of talks ftom Pyongyang about South Korea.
* The escalation in military hardware building could lead to more tensions in the geopolitics of the South Sea
The recent talks coming from the Pyongyang office should not be ignored as Kim Jong-Un went against his grandfather Kim Sung ll's wish of reuniting the North Koreans with their South kin when he officially declared enmity with Seoul shaking up tensions in the Korean Peninsula with a big threat for an outbreak of a war. This comes after the former claimed that he successfully tested underground nuclear weapons and nuclear drones which also had the power to carry nuclear weapons upto a distance of over 180 miles. However there exists controversy over war with the South due the increased sale of ballistic missiles to Russia something that Kim wouldn't risk had he been preparing for war which is most expected again to bring an end to his regime should event happen that the western powers join in on the side of the South which all together have a more sophisticated military than North Korea.
However North Korea also enjoys military partnership with Russia and economic support right from the second biggest economy China which would give it an advantage in face of aggression from the west and South Korea. Right from the 1950-1953 Korean war that led the division into the North and South Korea, there has been a series of provocations and threats of war with even North Korea bombing the Yeonpyeong lsland killing four civilians and two soldiers an action that was termed as aggression from Seoul. These tensions have also continued to dismantle all the hopes of a United Korea. President Kim Jong-Un has also threatened to break down the Reunification arch that has also continues to show a break down in diplomacy and cross border broadcasts. The nine-storey monument was constructed in 2001 to commemorate the efforts by his father and grandfather towards a united Korea and it portrays two women in traditional attire trying to reach to each other.
The history of North Korea defines the country as one that has always resorted to threats and intimidation even wen it actually means to breed negotiation. The regime continues to suffer from economic sanctions amid its people suffeirng from high rates of starvation especially outside the country's capital due to the President's heavy investment in nuclear technology and weapons. With 2024 being an election year in the North Korean enemy bank as the South Koreans prepare for legislature elections and the United States gears up for presidential elections, Kim hopes to see Donald Trump back at White House with whom they pursued a bromance before the denuclearization talks soured in 2019 and this would be chance for the relationship between the South and the United States to weaken and for Kim to pursue his bilomial policy.
