Parliament yesterday came to a pause when members of the opposition led by their leader Hon. Mathias Mpuuga stormed out of the august house, protesting the inhuman arrests of their counterparts Hon Ssegirinya and Hon. Ssewanyana.
This infuriated the speaker, Hon. Jacob Oulanyah who accused the prime minister Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja and Attorney General Kiryowa Kiwanuka of being incompitent. Oulanyah clearly stated he had not been informed about the re-arrest of the two MPs.
Today, led by opposition chief whip Hon. Patrick Nambeshe, the opposition MPs stated they'll not attend any parliamentary sittings until their fellows are freed. This again caused the speaker Oulanyah to lash out at the security personels on how they're handling the issue.
The two MPs Ssegirinya and Ssewanyana were today brought to court in Masaka where another murder case was read to them, making it 7 cases to their names. By evening, the two were remanded to kigo prison as they await the judge's verdict.
