A catastrophic explosion in Lebanon's capital city has left dozens dead, thousands injured but with a number of lingering questions on what might have caused the massive explosion.
With exclusive reports circulating on internet indicate that astonishing blast shook Beirut's highly populated port leaving all glass shattered, making cars flip and mostly damaging structures that were even as far as six miles away, what a great impact of a force it could have been.
Well while addressing the nation on what might have been cause of the catastrophic explosion, Lebanon's Prime Minister said that the investigation was focused on an estimated 2,750 metric tons of the explosive ammonium nitrate stored at a warehouse and there was absolutely no indication that the explosion might have been an attack on Beirut's port.
In addition to that report Three US Defense Department officials told CNN that as of Tuesday night there was no indication that the massive explosion that rocked Beirut was an "attack," contradicting an earlier claim from President Donald Trump.
However, It's still not exactly clear what led to the ignition of this ammonium nitrate that wiped out entire streets across the seaside capital.
Reports of scientists indicate that once ammonium is stored for a very long period of time as for the case Beirut, being an energetic material", it produces heat as it decomposes and
If there is sufficient quantity of ammonium nitrate, it can generate enough heat to catch fire and keep the fire going, without the need for an external catalyst such as a flame hence Boom ????.
And in conclusion the warehouse storing thousands of tons of unsecured highly explosive material emerges as a possible source of the massive blast that ripped through the Lebanese.
However, the above stipulations have left many residents dubious with claims that the explosion was so disastrous to be triggered by only ammonium nitrate only left to believe that it could have been an attack.
