While other celebrities fight so hard to be in the limelight, it looks like the limelight loves being around Winnie Nwagi. Just a few weeks back after her "mouthwatering" pictures while in Fort Portal trended and caused scrotal erruptions among men, the Jangu hit maker is back in the news, this time round against some "big gun" in the industry.
News reaching us is that Winnie got bounced as she tried to access Fenon studios premises and guess by who???, The owner himself, Steve Jean. The reason (s) for Winnie's bouncing are is/are not clear, but what we know is she and many more other artists had been contacted for an independence performance, which was to be recorded at Fenon records.
It turns out that Steve apparently has issues with artists signed by Swangz Avenue, as Winnie was quoted saying,"Steve just doesn't want to work with any Artist signed by Swangz Avenue. We already had our doubts about him and he has just approved it." It is believed there's been bad blood between the two entertainment powerhouses for a long time, much as Swangz sprung from Fenon. Steven Kyazze and Benon Mugumbya (founders of Swangz Avenue) were under Steve's mentorship for a while before beginning the Makindye based record label.
When asked about the issue, Benon's response was not that different from Nwagi's, "our artists are willing to perform on his shows, if they're approached. But he (Steve Jean) is not willing to work with them." Not the best of news coming from the two of the best entertainment entities in the land.
