This year has definitely not been Sheebah's year. She has faced hardships that have seemed to be bigger than her lately because they are dragging her down to a point where she says she feels depressed and if she had a chance, she would leave this country.
Sheebah is known to be tough spirited but these recent events have taken a trol on her, most especially the hate she is receiving from a certain section of her fans. Sheebah has always been criticized about very small issues and she has never seen the need to respond to any of them but the recent criticisms are depressing her.
The worst case begun when Sheebah was sexually harassed in her car as she awaited her turn to perform on stage. Sheebah could not stomach this pain so she came out and talked about it. She mentioned that it never matters what a person wears but no one should touch them without their consent.
Sheebah however did not disclose the name of her perpetrator and many fans urged her to spit it out instead of protecting the culprit. The pressure must have also had it's effect on Sheebah but nevertheless she went to police and reported the case, revealing the culprit to the Police.
Ever since this incident however, Sheebah has not been the same and she has received a lot of hate from individuals, some claiming she wasn't harassed but she is seeking popularity. Sheebah openly mentioned that she could not run from Uganda because that is where she belongs but she really felt like running away for the sake of peace.
"I love Ugandans so much because I’m also a Ugandan and I don’t have where to run to but if I had, I would have left Uganda long ago. I would have simply left because you sometimes bring us a lot of depression. The depression is not caused by strangers but by our very own." Sheebah said.
