As the commencement of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers looms, the only possible venue to host our home games and meet CAF and FIFA standards in the country is St.Mary's Stadium.
The FUFA officials were joined by the Vipers’ Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Simon Njuba, Stadium manager, Edward Junior Mulindwa and Sporting Director, Charles Masembe.
The FUFA team was led by Fufa Deputy CEO – Football Decolas Kiiza Hantali and Ivan Kintu Bayige (Fufa club licensing manager) went for a guided tour around the 15,000 seater facility.
The inspection is the first stage of the well phased guide in which a report will be made and be immediately presented to Caf and FIFA prior to the start of the FIFA 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
Among the areas that were carefully inspected by the FUFA officials are, the playing area, team dug-outs, VIP section, general stands, media tribune, dressing rooms, Caf and Fifa officials’ offices, referees rooms, dispensary, lavatories, parking lot, entry as well as exit routes, ambulances’ area, stadium score board.
The World Cup Qualifiers will start early June, 2021 and Uganda will aim at topping the group with the opening game away in the Eastern neighborhood.
